A final decision on whether McGill should acquire the former Royal Victoria Hospital will be made in the coming year, the April session of Senate was told, as Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic) Christopher Manfredi and Vice Principal (Administration and Finance) Yves Beauchamp presented the RVH-Academic Vision and Development Plan to Senate.

With the recent announcement that the Quebec government will share with McGill the cost of feasibility studies into the future of the now-vacant Royal Victoria Hospital site, Principal Suzanne Fortier has created a Principal’s Task Force on the Academic Vision and Mission of the RVH Site.

Tenders called for RVH feasibility studies


Another step has been taken toward determining if McGill should acquire the former Royal Victoria Hospital property on Pine Ave. The University has launched a call for tenders to conduct feasibility studies assessing the technical, financial and heritage-related challenges entailed in the conversion of the iconic Montreal landmark.
