Open data: More standards, more useful

Citizen coders are transforming reams of freely available government data into apps that can create everything from real-time pothole updates to city hall legislation progress reports. But not all open data is formatted equally, and that can make it tricky to harness. McGill’s GeoThink research group has collaborated with Johns Hopkins University to build the first-ever international data standards directory – and they want your help to make it even bigger.
