McGill gets 15 CRCs, infrastructure funding


On Thursday, May 4, the Honorable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science, announced $126 million in funding for 142 new and renewed Canada Research Chairs at universities across Canada. Fifteen CRCs valued at $12 million went to McGill faculty.

Seven emerging researchers given national honour


Today, the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) announced 80 new members to the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists, seven of which are McGill scholars. Honorees hail from a broad range of faculties: Arts, Science, Engineering, Management, and Medicine.

McGill celebrates rising research stars


Evidence suggests that when ambitious young researchers win accolades early in their career, they are more likely to receive increasingly prestigious prizes and awards as their work progresses. It was with this finding in mind that Principal and Vice-Chancellor Suzanne Fortier founded the Principal’s Prize for Outstanding Emerging Researchers in 2013.
