McGillians on the frontline of literacy with Frontier College

In the Community

The Montreal branch of Frontier College, Canada’s oldest literacy organization, was launched in 1992 by Stephanie Miller, a McGill student at the time. Frontier College’s literacy tutoring programs have spread to the city’s four universities, as well as Quebec City and Sherbrooke. Since then hundreds of people have been trained to teach basic literacy, with about 20 McGillians now working as literacy volunteers.
