Engineers learn to launch innovative products, not rockets

While the Faculty of Engineering prides itself on being able to prepare students to accomplish such complex tasks as putting rockets into space, launching a product or service idea into the market can be equally as challenging. But EngInE, the Faculty’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship hub is encouraging technological entrepreneurship for students and professors through education, funding, mentorship and networking events.

New Quebec budget includes $1M for Agrifood Innovation at McGill


Quebec’s recently unveiled provincial budget includes one new line-item that means a lot for McGill research. The province has allocated $1 million per year for five years for the creation of the McGill Agrifood Innovation Network (M.A.I.N.), led by the Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences and CTAQ (Conseil de la Transformation Alimentaire du Quebec) in collaboration with Saint-Hyacinthe Food Research and Development Centre (CRDA,) and other universities.
