New program seeks to make McGill workplaces more sustainable

Sustainability Officer Shona Watt is on a mission. For over a year, Watt, who works in the McGill Office of Sustainability, has been developing a Sustainable Workplace Certification program to challenge staff and students throughout the University to foster healthier, more environmentally-friendly, and connected workplaces through individual and collective practices.

McGill ranked Canada’s 2nd-greenest campus


The 2017 Corporate Knights Green Campus Ranking has named McGill the second greenest campus in Canada! Universities and colleges across the country were evaluated on initiatives they have undertaken to improve their environmental impact, including green buildings, greenhouse gas emissions reductions, sustainable transportation and purchasing.

Sustainability Projects Fund wins prestigious City of Montreal Award


On April 25, the City of Montreal and the Conseil régional de l’environnement honoured McGill’s Sustainability Projects Fund with one of three prestigious awards at their annual Gala de reconnaissance en environnement et développement.
