$5 Million for agri-food innovation

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Laurent Lessard; and Geoffrey Kelley, MNA for Jacques-Cartier and Minister responsible for Native Affairs, announced on behalf of the Government of Quebec $5 million for the Consortium de recherche précompétitive en transformation alimentaire at the Macdonald campus on Thursday, March 31. The funds will be awarded in five annual instalments of $1 million.

New Quebec budget includes $1M for Agrifood Innovation at McGill


Quebec’s recently unveiled provincial budget includes one new line-item that means a lot for McGill research. The province has allocated $1 million per year for five years for the creation of the McGill Agrifood Innovation Network (M.A.I.N.), led by the Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences and CTAQ (Conseil de la Transformation Alimentaire du Quebec) in collaboration with Saint-Hyacinthe Food Research and Development Centre (CRDA,) and other universities.
