Helena Reinfels, a McGill University pentathlete from Puslinch, Ont., won silver and broke a school record on Day 1 of the 2016 CIS Track and Field Championships, held at the Toronto Track and Field Centre, Thursday.

Synchro team wins 3rd-straight national title

McGill captured the Geraldine Dubrule trophy as champions of the Canadian University Synchronized Swim League (CUSSL) at UBC on Sunday. It marked McGill’s third consecutive CUSSL title and 13th overall since the league was formed in 2001-02.

Mac women cut competition down to size

Jet lag can’t slow McGill’s Daoust

You can excuse Mélodie Daoust if she’s a little tired these days. This past Thursday she captained the Canadian national development team to gold at the Nations Cup tournament in Fussen, Germany, before hopping a plane back to Montreal so she could join her Martlets teammates as they took on crosstown rival Concordia on Friday. Just six hours after touching down, Daoust scored once and added three helpers as No.2-ranked McGill skated to a 5-2 victory.

Gold rush: Mehain dominates south of the border

Sarah Mehain, a McGill swimmer from Vernon, B.C., won three gold medals on Friday at the 2015 U.S. Paralympics Swimming Open competition. The wins brought her tally to four gold for the meet.

McGill’s Daoust to play for Canada at Nations Cup

Mélodie Daoust, captain of the McGill Martlets, has been named by Hockey Canada to play at the 2016 Nations Cup tournament in Füssen, Germany, Jan. 4-7. The Canadian women’s development team will participate in the four-day competition along with national teams from Finland, Germany, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland.
