The annual awards honour individuals and schools for producing innovative work in the fields of fundraising, alumni relations, stewardship, special events, advancement services and communications.

“Real life vampires” win the Macdonald Campus 3MT competition

Mark Kaji, PhD candidate, has worked for three years seeking ways to combat the growing resistance of hookworms to available drugs, part of the global effort to ultimately relegate the blood-sucking intestinal parasite to history. His riveting three-minute talk, “Real Life Vampires and How to Kill Them,” took first prize at the Macdonald Campus three-minute-thesis (3MT) competition on Jan. 11.

McGill researchers contribute to three of 10 ‘discoveries of year’

Québec Science magazine has selected its 10 Discoveries of the Year for 2017, including three involving McGill researchers. The annual list has highlighted top scientific research from across Quebec for the past 25 years, and McGill has been cited more than any other institution during that quarter-century.

Crago and Crépeau among McGillians honored by G-G

On Dec. 29, the Governor General got a jump on the New Year celebrations by announcing 125 new appointments to the Order of Canada. Several members of the McGill community will be receiving what is widely considered the country’s highest civilian honour.
