Revolutionary new probe zooms in on cancer cells

Brain cancer patients may live longer thanks to a new cancer-detection method developed by researchers at The Neuro and Polytechnique Montréal. The collaborative team has created a powerful new intraoperative probe for detecting cancer cells. The MNI-ICM partnership: Building the Future of Neuroscience on Existing Strengths

The Montreal Neurological Institute and the Institut du Cerveau et de la Moelle épinière – two world leading neuroscience institutes – have decided to join forces and foster synergy by developing a joint international collaborative framework. The goal is to develop a strong research and training link between institutes that have highly overlapping interests and complementary research skills. The hope is that by building on existing collaborations, and through annual workshops, joint research projects and visiting lectures, we can accelerate progress towards potential therapies and prevention strategies for complex neurological conditions.
