Dr. Shoubridge originally took on this role in 2013 and has successfully led and grown the Department over the course of his first term.

We are writing to provide a brief update on the situation following last week’s announcement by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to cease funding for students from Saudi Arabia studying in Canada and to oblige them to leave the country. We have met with the Faculty’s residents and fellows from Saudi Arabia and are collaborating with McGill’s Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies with respect to our graduate students from Saudi Arabia.

His mandate includes strengthening the academic component of the clinical mental health services offered at the Douglas Institute and our IUHSSC.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Christina Maria Raneburger to the position of Associate Director, Administrative Excellence Centre (AEC) 7. In her role, Ms. Raneburger will report to the Executive Director and plan, lead, organize, and direct the administrative and business affairs of the Faculty of Medicine’s Department of Pathology, the Gerald Bronfman Department of Oncology and the Department of Diagnostic Radiology.

We are writing to update you regarding the recent announcement by the Government of Saudi Arabia that it would be ceasing funding for all Saudi students studying in Canada and asking those students to return home. In the time since this announcement earlier this week, we have been in communication with the more than 200 Saudi post-MD trainees in the Faculty of Medicine who are affected by this decision. Yesterday afternoon we held an information and wellness session for those impacted and we will continue to provide support to these valued members of our community in any way that we can throughout this difficult period. We continue to coordinate our efforts with the University’s leadership on this matter.
