In September, the Quebec government imposed funding cuts on Quebec universities for this fiscal year (2014-2015 or FY2015).
On 27 October 2014, Vice-Principal (Administration and Finance) Michael Di Grappa and I will hold two Open Forums on our financial situation. The objective of these meetings will be to answer questions and collect feedback and suggestions from you about actions we can take in light of continued reductions in McGill’s operating grant from Quebec.

Congratulations Fall 2014 graduates!

Fall convocation for Health Sciences students at McGill University was held in the afternoon of October 29th at Place des Arts, in downtown Montreal. Included among the graduating class were 110 graduates from the Ingram School of Nursing, 25 from the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders, 4 from the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy and 1 from the School of Medicine.

Two McGill athletes among CIS Top 8 Academic All-Canadians, including pharmacology student

Two student-athletes from McGill are among the CIS Top Eight Academic All-Canadians for the 2013-14 season announced Tuesday by Canadian Interuniversity Sport. Representing the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec conference are McGill standouts Mariam Sylla, a basketball player and pharmacology student, as well as Cédric McNicoll, a hockey player and accounting major.

Two awards for Dr. Francis Glorieux

Dr. Francis Glorieux has been named the recipient of the 2014 ASBMR William F. Neuman Award, which recognizes an ASBMR member for outstanding and major scientific contributions in the area of bone and mineral research and for contributions to associates and trainees in teaching, research and administration, as well as the OIF Humanitarian Award, given to individuals who have devoted their own lives to improving the lives of people living with osteogenesis imperfecta.
