A group of researchers at the Lady Davis Institute of the Jewish General Hospital have published a meta-analysis of novel anti-coagulants tested in nine clinical trials, involving more than 16,600 patients, and concluded that two of the new entries on the market offer improvements over warfarin. Their findings appear in the prestigious British Medical Journal (BMJ).

McGill University researcher and Centre for Studies in Aging director Jens Pruessner recently launched the Prevention of Neurological Diseases in Everyone at Risk (PONDER) project, which will offer free cognitive training to the public while creating an extensive database of longitudinal cognitive assessments which he hopes will give researchers a greater understanding of the trajectory of neurodegenerative diseases.
