COVID-19: Effect of social distancing measures will take time to appear, experts say

Dr. Matthew Oughton, Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and infectious disease specialist at the Montreal Jewish General Hospital, spoke with CTV News to explain that it will take approximately two weeks for the impacts of social distancing to become evident.  Until then, he expects the number of new cases to continue to rise rapidly because it takes five to seven days for people to show symptoms and additional time for testing.
