The Macdonald Farm Community Engagement Centre – An Update!

The Campaign for the $4M Macdonald Farm Community Engagement Centre (CEC) has surpassed the $3M threshold, bringing the project one step closer to successful completion. The Faculty is pleased to report that ongoing consultations are underway with architects and engineers, with construction expected to begin in the New Year. The grand opening is scheduled for September 2019 with a special ribbon-cutting celebration during Homecoming weekend.

The CEC will serve as home base for educational tours of the farm, including the dairy barn, the new calf barn and the mini-farm, offering visitors an experience that is both fun and informative. It will include the 3,000-square-foot Lorna K. and J. William Ritchie Educational Hall, the Alton and Murray McEwen Visitor Hub and the Stewart Brown and Anne Myles Brown Food Transformation Laboratory. With your support, we can help thousands of students and community members discover the importance of education and research in agricultural and environmental sciences. We are inviting friends and alumni to support the project and give generously to build on the legacy of the Farm for generations to come. Make your gift here.
