Ormstown Luncheon

Alumni Events

Another sold-out lunch at the Que Pasa restaurant in Ormstown, QC, was organized by Peter Finlayson, BScAgr’63, and George Eades, BScAgr’74, bringing in its usual capacity crowd. There were alumni from all years in attendance, which kept conversations lively and familiar. A moment of reflection for Roland Greenbank, BScAgr’47, DipEd’56, who passed away in 2016, was led by Wanda Trineer, BScAgr’76 – as Roly started the annual Ormstown Luncheon tradition in 1999. After lunch, four Macdonald graduate students wowed the crowd with their 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) presentations about their research. The alumni learned about bioplastics and sustainability, dairy cow improvements in the barn and mitigating disease. The Macdonald 3MT competition was supported by the Lister Family Engaged Science Initiative sponsored by alumnus Ed Lister, BScAgr’55, MSc’57, and wife Terry.
