Professor Belinda Nicolau awarded grant for Summer Research Institute

Congratulations to Dr. Belinda Nicolau for her recent grant from the Network for Canadian Oral Health Research (NCOHR). She was awarded $20 000 towards the Summer Research Institute Program. The “Applied mixed methods in oral health research” Summer Institutw will be health at the McGill Faculty of Dentistry from from Monday August 24 – Friday August 28, 2015.

In response to the increasing complexity of research problems relating to human health, the use of mixed methods has recently gained immense popularity in health sciences research including dentistry. Drs. Belinda Nicolau, Pierre Pluye, Alissa Levine and Geneviève Castonguay will hold the Summer Research Institute this year. This Summer Institute will not only provide oral health researchers with the tools to critically evaluate the growing number of mixed methods studies published each year in the field; it will also enable them to design and carry out studies combining qualitative and quantitative methods to produce results that lead to a deeper understanding of oral health phenomena.

For more information or free registration (limited to 25 participants), please contact Dr. Nicolau.
