The Perks of McGill Accounting

2014-2015 Issue 2

JeremycropJeremy Palevsky is currently enrolled in the McGill University School of Continuing Studies’ Diploma in Accounting, so he already know about some of the perks that come from studying accounting.

“As an accountant, you work in really diverse areas – it’s always changing. It’s also a great way to meet people, because it’s a fun environment with lots of young people. And you get a really good feel for business. You have a complete understanding of all aspects of a business and how it runs.”

Jeremy is studying for his diploma while also working as a Campus Ambassador for KPMG.

Jeremy earned an undergraduate degree from McGill, and enrolled in the diploma program in Fall 2014. Shortly after that he was recruited as a Campus Ambassador for KPMG, and soon he’ll share his recruitment experience with his fellow students.

Palevsky will lead an Accounting Recruitment Season Seminar.

“I’m involved in recruitment at KPMG, and I’ve gone through it myself,” says Jeremy. “The seminar will include timelines, tips, how to dress, how to behave – everything a student needs to know for the fall recruitment season.”

The free seminar will take place on August 24, 2015, and it’s open to all School of Continuing Studies students in undergraduate or graduate accounting programs. He’ll be joined by Alan Moskovic, a fellow McGill School of Continuing Student who’s earning a Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting and is also an associate at PwC. “I definitely recommend it,” says Jeremy.
