Fresh Faces at the Office of Sustainability

The Sandbox

This Spring, the McGill Office of Sustainability welcomed three student interns to our team. Our intern program provides students a valuable opportunity to work towards personal and professional goals while contributing to the sustainability movement at McGill. We are pleased to introduce you to Claire, Monica, and Tim who will be joining us for the summer.

Claire Paoli, SPF Administration Intern

Claire is a second year Economics and Environment student from Italy. She is interested in how business, society and the environment interact to allow for long-term sustainability, and is always looking to support initiatives that lead to sustainable development. During her time at McGill, she has been involved with the World Wildlife Fund campus club and MealCare, raising awareness of environmental and food security issues on campus. She is excited to work with the Office of Sustainability to promote the SPF and find new ways to engage project applicants.

Monica Allaby, Communications Intern

Monica is a third year Geography student from Fredericton, New Brunswick. She is passionate about supporting sustainable food systems and healthy, vibrant communities. During her time at McGill, she has been involved with a variety of sustainability initiatives, including the McGill Farmers’ Market and the McGill Food Systems Project. She is also conducting her Honours research on urban farming in the Land & Food Lab at McGill. She is excited to bring her creativity and love of all things communications to the Office of Sustainability.

Tim Eilis, Web Intern

Tim is a third year Bioengineering student from Toronto, Ontario. He is very passionate about social sustainability, with a particular focus on increasing access to STEM education for racialized people and other underrepresented groups in STEM fields, a cause that he has pursued through his work with the Faculty of Engineering. In his studies, Tim is also becoming interested in environmental biotechnology, with a focus on microbial bioremediation. He is excited for this opportunity to utilize and develop his web design skills and spread his love for sustainability as the Web Communications Intern at MOOS.
