On Sept. 12, the Royal Society of Canada announced 70 new members to The College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists, including seven McGill scholars. With seven members, McGill has more new inductees this year than any other university in the country.

Vijaya Raghavan elected President of RSC’s Academy of Science

The Royal Society of Canada (RSC) recently announced the results from elections to choose new Presidents of its three Academies as well as a new President of the College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists. Vijaya Raghavan, James McGill professor in the Dept. of Bioresource Engineering, was elected President of the RSC’s Academy of Science.

Today, the Royal Society of Canada announced the induction of 89 new Fellows, ten of which are McGill researchers and scholars. They join the more than 160 McGill-affiliated Fellows inducted to the Society since 1966.

Aashish Clerk awarded Rutherford Medal in Physics by RSC

RSC honours 14 McGill researchers and scholars

Today the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) announced 87 new Fellows, including 14 McGill researchers and scholars from five faculties and schools. In addition, McGill’s Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Suzanne Fortier, was named a Specially Elected Fellow. This new cohort joins the more than 150 McGill-affiliated Fellows inducted since 1966.
