A team of scientists from the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) and McGill, led by Immunologist Dr. Maziar Divangahi, have discovered a protein that could soon help minimize the impact of the influenza season and become a critical player in the fight against lung infections.

The influenza virus – or the flu – makes millions of Canadians sick each year, and a vaccine is the best way to prevent it. We’re happy to announce that once again this year, there are sufficient funds to cover the full cost of the flu vaccine for active McGill staff under age 65 who are members of the University’s health and/or dental plans, as well as their eligible dependents under 65.
