On Saturday, April 28, Professor Emeritus Charles Taylor was awarded the 2018 International Grand Prix of the Blue Metropolis Montreal International Literary Festival at the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec.

Celebrated McGill philosopher Charles Taylor has been named the first winner of the $1-million Berggruen Prize. Taylor (BA52). now a professor emeritus, is considered one of the world’s foremost philosophers and has collected several major academic prizes in recent years.

Charles Taylor awarded $1.5M Kluge Prize


Professor Charles Taylor, one of the world’s most celebrated living philosophers, has been awarded the prestigious $1.5 million John W. Kluge Prize for Achievement in the Study of Humanity granted by the Library of Congress. Emeritus professor Taylor (BA ‘52), will share the distinction with German philosopher and socio-political theorist Jürgen Habermas.
