$9M for McGill research through CRC Program

McGill has been awarded nine new Canada Research Chairs (CRC) and five renewals, for a total investment of $9.7 million in research and development. The new and renewed chairs come from across the university and their studies range widely, from the neural basis of brain disorders to the geology of fault lines.

Earlier today, the Honorable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science, announced over $173 million in funding for 203 new and renewed Canada Research Chairs at universities across Canada. Sixteen CRCs went to McGill faculty.

McGill research projects that will benefit from the new funds include those investigating the genetics of pain and childhood disability, as well as the ecology of the Arctic and engineered quantum systems.
