Sept. 24 – 25: Indigenous Women’s Activism symposium

resistingThe Institute for Gender, Sexuality and Feminist Studies, in association with the Canadian Women’s Federation and the Social Equity and Diversity Education Office, presents a two-day public symposium entitled Resisting Gendered and State Violence: Indigenous Women’s Activism, (Sept. 24 – 25) at Thomson House. The symposium highlights the issues of systemic violence facing aboriginal women and girls in Canada and their creative and powerful means of resistance, during a Canadian election year and while a convergence of energies and programs on McGill campus are promoting an increased discussion of aboriginal issues.
