April 29: Gastrointestinal Cancer public forum
The public is invited to take part in the Goodman Cancer Research Centre’s (GCRC) upcoming public forum on Gastrointestinal Cancer: Prevention, Risk Factors and Treatment. The lecture will be held on Tuesday, April 29, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the McIntyre Medical Sciences Building (1200 Pine Ave.) in the Martin Theatre, 6th floor. Gastrointestinal (GI) cancers are a collection of diseases that affect the digestive system (esophagus, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, stomach and bowel). The GCRC’s experts will explain the importance of detecting changes in your body that could signify the presence of GI cancer, recognizing what can make you susceptible and taking appropriate action for early diagnosis and treatment so that you can detect the disease before it can spread or metastasize. To register for this free lecture, please contact Annette Novak at 514-398-4970, e-mail or register on-line.
