March 27: Felipe Fernández-Armesto on Change
Change puzzled pre-Socratics. We have stopped wondering at the mutability of the cosmos, but started bickering over cultural change – its volatility and apparent acceleration. Is evolution or something like it responsible? Or does culture change according to a dynamic of its own? Felipe Fernández-Armesto, William P. Reynolds Professor of History at the University of Notre Dame, promises an original resolution or at least an original approach. The event will take place on Thursday, March 27, at 5 p.m. at Bronfman Building room 423. More details can be found here.
