Here’s a treat for Oct. 31: Pine Ave. to be back to normal tonight

Posted on Wednesday, October 9, 2013

As of 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, Pine Ave. will be reopened to normal traffic in both directions following months of construction work around the McTavish reservoir to replace decades-old water and sewer mains.

The City of Montreal says while there may be some traffic disruption at the beginning of next week as crews disinfect the new mains before they are put into use, traffic and parking will return to normal. The disinfection work will be concentrated around the intersection of Dr. Penfield Ave. and Pine Ave.

Work had been prolonged lately while one of the contractors went back into the street to try to fix the source of a leak in one of the new pipes. That work is complete and the street will reopen tonight.
