McGill will join other public institutions in Quebec on Thursday, July 11, in lowering its flags to half-staff in remembrance of the victims of last weekend’s devastating rail disaster in Lac-Mégantic and all those who have been touched by the tragedy. Flags will remain lowered until dusk on Wednesday, July 17, at the request of the Quebec government. Let us take this opportunity to express, once again, our profound sympathy to those who have suffered and to remind our community that if they wish to contribute to recovery efforts, they may do so through the Canadian Red Cross.
