McGil’s Eve-Lynne Kyle is one of 17 Canadian medical students to be awarded a scholarship by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). The students – one from each of Canada’s 17 medical schools – each received a $10,000 scholarship.  The scholarship award ceremony was held yesterday during the CFPC’s annual Family Medicine Forum (FMF) at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

“The CFPC congratulates the 2012 Medical Student Scholarship recipients for their outstanding leadership, dedication and commitment to family medicine,” said CFPC President, Dr Sandy Buchman. “They represent the future of family medicine in our country.  The College is proud to recognize their achievements and interest in careers in family medicine and to help support their education and training.   We look forward to the day that we may welcome them as much needed family physician colleagues practicing together with us to provide the best possible care for the people of Canada.”

Kyle is Co-chair of the Family Medicine Student Interest Group, a member of the Family Medicine Student Symposium Organizing Committee, and the student representative for CFPC’s Section of Medical Students.

The Research and Education foundation of the College of Family Physicians of Canada is dedicated to raising funds to recognize and support current and future family doctors in their pursuit of the best health for the population.
