MDCM students launch Faces at McGill Medicine

In October, Jennifer He, a Med-2 student with an interest in photography, joined forces with classmates Samantha Rivet and Doulia Hamad to launch Faces at McGill Medicine (FAMM), a Facebook page in the intimate, storytelling style of Humans of New York, which highlights diversity in the MDCM program.

Ex-Chancellor Arnold Steinberg: generous, curious, devoted

H. Arnold Steinberg, businessman, philanthropist, tireless volunteer and Chancellor Emeritus, died suddenly on Friday, Dec. 11, at the age of 82. With his passing, McGill, the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) and the Montreal community lost one of their greatest servants, and a man who was happiest when he was giving back.

Top 10 student haunts of all time

Alumni of a certain era will recognize #1 on this list. Known for its bow-tied waiters, 23-hour-a-day service, and celebrity patrons (including Ed Sullivan and Liberace), this beloved deli occupied an Art Deco brown brick building not far from campus, on the corner of Metcalfe and de Maisonneuve Blvd. Designed by Charles David Goodman, who also worked on the Jewish General Hospital, the building was demolished in 2008, in spite of protests from groups heralding it as a cultural and architectural landmark.
