Dr. Togas Tulandi appointed Chair and Chief of McGill and MUHC Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Togas Tulandi as Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine, McGill University, and Chief of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC). Dr Tulandi has led the two departments on an interim basis since 2015.

Working together to accelerate research into neurological diseases, three leading players in Canada’s health sciences sector are joining forces in a unique multi-million dollar partnership to create a novel drug development platform that will help advance new therapeutics for some of the most debilitating conditions such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, and Parkinson’s disease. Students representing McGill’s Faculty of Medicine took home the top three prizes recently at McGill’s second annual 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) / Ma thèse en 180 secondes finals competition. Competitors had exactly three minutes and one slide to present their work to a general audience.

McGill students develop Wikipedia page on transgender voice therapy

The first course at McGill to participate in a Wikipedia-supported WikiEdu initiative, Dr. Nicole Li-Jessen from the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders, identified seven articles that she thought needed work and tasked the speech language pathology students in her graduate-level voice disorder course with addressing them. Four of those students – Omar Orbegozo Zavala, Kira Perlman, Jeanie Morry and Allyson Trainor – decided to tackle the entry on transgender voice therapy.
