JGH Opens Eyes on Glaucoma: Information Sessions for General Public

Shown (from l to r): Dr. Oscar Kasner an ophthalmologist specialized in glaucoma, ophthalmic technician Marc Renaud, and nurse Carole Desharmais.
In order to promote awareness and hopefully help detect glaucoma at the earliest stage, the Jewish General Hospital gives free monthly information sessions to anyone interested in the disease.
The JGH has been collaborating with McGill University and the MUHC since the fall of 2006 to help individuals with glaucoma control and stabilize their vision. Come and learn about the various functions of the eye, how glaucoma appears and how it is treated, and what medications work and how to use them properly. A doctor is available at the end of each session to answer questions.
Upcoming information sessions:
Monday, October 5 (en français) at 4 p.m.
Jewish General Hospital, 3755 Côte-Ste-Catherine Road (corner of Côte-des-Neiges and Côte Ste-Catherine), Samuel S. Cohen Auditorium, Room A-102
The McGill Glaucoma Information Centre is open to all. For further details, please visit the JGH site, call 514-340-8222 (ext. 4954), or e-mail glaucomaed@yahoo.ca.
