A message from our Faculty’s Advisory Board Chair

Impact of Annual Giving 2014

1-PAPICH-Fil-100331-181632-8674 RET-Mar31-2010-OwenEganPhotoI write to you as a fellow graduate, BEng’83, and as Chair of McGill Engineering’s Faculty Advisory Board, the 12-member body that advises our Dean on strategic development.

My ties to McGill run deep. Both parents and both of my sisters are graduates; I met Carol, my future wife, here; my eldest son, Stef, is a graduate; my second son, Sasha, is a current student and many of my friends and colleagues are graduates.

In fact, I meet McGill people virtually anywhere I go. As alumni and alumnae we form a worldwide community in which we are all members.

The Faculty Advisory Board is a perfect example of this bond that links current, past and future engineering, architecture and urban planning students from McGill. One of our Board’s principle goals is to grow this sense of community, both in terms of lifelong engagement and providing financial support.

I invite you to get involved at our Faculty in any way that you can. Annual gifts to the Alma Mater Fund are an essential part of this process, so I encourage each of you to support today’s students, knowing that one day, as graduates, they, too,  will provide a helping hand to generations to come.
