A warm thank you

Impact of Annual Giving – 2013

PrintMcGill Engineering greatly appreciates the yearly support it receives from alumni far and wide.

This 2013 Alma Mater Fund impact report presents an overview of the many benefits that your annual gifts provide and profiles two direct recipients of your giving: newly-minted graduate Ashley Galagusz, BEng’13, and 2nd-year undergraduate Morgan Grobin.

Alumna Lynn Byrd, BEng’92, also talks about why she gives back to our Faculty on an annual basis.

Gender wasn’t a criterion in selecting these three individuals. It simply happened that many of the story ideas referred to the editors centered on women.

Changing demographics in our Engineering, Architecture and Urban Planning classes are very real. International students now comprise 30% of our student body, Francophones 15% and women 23%.

By extension, women, francophone and international graduates are also a growing force in our worldwide network of donors.

The group of largely English speaking, Canadian-born men that launched the Alma Mater Fund in the late 1880s has blossomed into a broad community of donors with representatives from every corner of the globe.

We are proud of our growing diversity and grateful to all of you.
