Message from our Faculty’s Advisory Board Chair

Impact of Annual Giving – 2013

Ram-Panda-100331-185523-8734 RETPrintI am a proud McGill alumnus, MEng’71 and MBA’77, who is writing in my capacity as Chair of our Faculty’s Advisory Board, the 12-member body that advises the Dean on strategic development issues.

Two important elements of that role are building a healthier annual giving program and promoting lifelong alumni engagement. Both are essential in helping the Faculty meet its objectives.

Our Faculty, like McGill itself, is what it is because of the support of literally thousands of volunteers who give of themselves to ensure that we maintain the exceptionally high standards that have always been McGill’s hallmark.

Enduring strength

bar chart 1 hi resWhether recent graduates, or well established professionals, all of us are stakeholders in building this remarkable community that is recognized the world over as one of McGill’s
greatest strengths.

As another article in this issue illustrates, changing demographics are altering the makeup of our alumni base, but not the spirit that motivates graduates and friends alike to work collaboratively to help our students and professors succeed.

Annual gifts to the Alma Mater Fund are critical in allowing this process to blossom, so I encourage all of you to reflect on how best you can bolster our Faculty’s inspiring sense of community.
