Gifts that add up

Impact of Annual Giving – 2012

Many alumni think that big gifts are the only way they can make a difference at the Faculty of Engineering. This sometimes makes individuals of more modest means feel the gifts they are able to give are unimportant. Nothing could be further from the truth.

All gifts from alumni have a ripple effect. Foundations, corporations and other major donors all consider alumni gifts of any amount votes of confidence in McGill Engineering. They often inquire about our annual participation rate when considering making gifts to our Faculty.

Participation also affects our international rankings, and like it or not, higher rankings impact on McGill Engineering’s ability to attract the most talented students.

Alumni support also means a great deal to our students. It creates a bond that straddles the decades, helping our engineering, architecture and urban planning students to feel part of a larger McGill community.

When alumni give every year, regardless of the amount, they make a huge difference at McGill Engineering. When we tell you that every gift counts, we truly mean it, and we appreciate each and every one.
