A unique collaboration among Shriners Hospital for Children – Canada, CHU Sainte-Justine and McGill University has enabled researchers to identify genetic mutations involved in a rare disease that causes scoliosis and bone malformations. The findings, published in The American Journal of Human Genetics, are likely to help doctors recognize the genetic disease, and could someday lead to therapies for the condition. Continue reading.

Congratulations to Dr. Haider Al-Waeli on placing first in the CADR-NCOHR Student Research Competition. His entry placed first in the Senior Clinical Science category and was selected for entry in the IADR/Unilever Hatton Competition in London, England in July 2018. Continue reading.

Professor Maryam Tabrizian has been inducted as a Fellow with the Royal Society of Canada. The Society announced the induction of 89 new Fellows today, each one elected by their peers in recognition of outstanding scholarly, scientific and artistic achievement.
