Every year the Division of Biomedical Sciences of Faculty of Dentistry organizes Best Research Papers competition for current graduate students in the Faculty who have published an original paper in the field of biomedical sciences in a peer-reviewed journal. Click here for this year’s winners.
Dr. Belinda Nicolau was recently accepted to participate in the American Dental Education Association Leadership Institute. She is the third McGill Dentistry Professor to be chosen to partake in the prestigious Institute. Read the full story here.
Two McGill Dentistry teams are working on getting their products to market. Dr. Faleh Tamimi and his team and Dr. Ashwaq Al-Hashedi presented their projects at this year McGill Dobson Cup, an annual startup competition for the McGill community. Hall of Honour
In 1969, the Hall of Honour was created to recognize distinguished contributors to the welfare and advancement of the Faculty in a significant and continuous way. We recently sat down with Dr. Blomfield and Dr. Greenwald, members of the Hall of Honour Committee, to speak about this initiative and what it all means for the Faculty.
Dr. Jocelyne Feine has always thought differently, fortunately. She has always been curious and without a doubt, passionate about her work and about people. When I meet her at her office for this interview, she greets me with a big smile and genuine enthusiasm in sharing her thoughts about life, career and her journey as a dentist/researcher.
Congratulations to Dr. Edwin Chan (former GPR resident at the Montreal Children’s Hospital) and all the co-authors who won first prize in the annual 3M Oral Care Graduate Student Research Presentations and Awards during the 2016 Annual Meeting of the Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (CAPD/ACDP) held on September 22.
The Summer Institute in Applied Mixed Methods for Oral Health and Primary Care Research held July 25-29 at the Faculty was a great success, with 11 participants from Canada, the US, Brazil and Hong Kong. Belinda Nicolau, the main organizer, was assisted by Alissa Levine, Geneviève Castonguay, Sreenath Madathil, Nora Makansi, Farnaz Rashid Kandvani, Nioushah Noushi (Faculty of Dentistry), Pierre Pluye and Quan Nha Hong (Department of Family Medicine).
