The McGill Qualitative Health Research Group

Live

The McGill Qualitative Health Research Group (MQHRG) provides an informal yet rigorous learning environment for Qualitative Health Researchers. Chaired by Dr. Mary Ellen Macdonald, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry, the group was founded in 2003 at McGill University and today counts over 100 Listserv members from Canadian Universities and hospitals. The group also has developed national and international affiliations with researchers from Brazil, Colombia, Belgium, Norway and the International Institute for Qualitative Inquiry.

The MQHRG meets approximately every six weeks during the Fall and Winter sessions of the academic year. Meetings are generally held in the Division of Oral Health and Society and can be critical reviews of student projects, seminars on qualitative methodologies or workshops.

The next MQHRG meeting will be a seminar entitled “How the internet is (and is not) changing health and care” given by Professor Sue Ziebland. Joining us from Oxford University she is a Professor of medical sociology and Director of the Health Experiences Research Group in the Department of Primary Care Health Services. The meeting will be held on Thursday October 22nd from 3:00 – 5:00 at 2001 McGill College Avenue, Rm 547 and is open to everyone.
