PhD Student, Dr. Ashwaq Al-Hashedi, awarded Grant

January 2015

PhD student, Dr. Ashwaq Al-Hashedi, was awarded the research grant of Alpha Omega Foundation of Canada to support her PhD research entitled  ‘Titanium implants decontamination’. Under the supervision of Dr. Faleh Tamimi this  research  is designed  to investigate the physical and chemical characteristics of biofilms formed on dental implants and changes that might occur on their surfaces due to contamination. The aim of their research is to develop and optimize clinically applicable methods that are able to completely eliminate the biofilm and restore the original implant surfaces’ properties that make it appropriate for re-osseointegration.

Congratulations!
