Professors Emami, Bedos and Esfandiari grant success

Congratulations to Professors Emami, Bedos and Esfandiari for being awarded the CIHR – Knowledge Synthesis Grant of $50 000 over one year for their project “Intégrer la médecine dentaire aux soins de santé communautaires de première ligne: une étude de portée”.

The objectives of this scoping review are to provide knowledge and expertise on the integration of dental care into primary health care services. In doing so, they hope to be able to respond to the needs identified by their partners and health care providers. The specific objectives are to:

1 – Map the key concepts and update the knowledge concerning the integration of oral health care into primary health care.
2 – Examine the nature and the breadth of research of community oral health care in primary health care, particularly by identifying the shortcomings and the research priorities for the subject.
3 – Describe the barriers and the factors that facilitate integration of dental care into primary health care services.
4 – Identify innovative models of community primary oral health care, both in Canada and the world.
